A critical security issue in PHP is currently being patched.
A very serious security problem has been announced in PHP. The impact of this bug is global: it impacts every website and every server running PHP, at every hosting company and cloud provider, not just at NuNames.
While we patch our systems, your website may be temporarily offline. This is a unique situation. The bug is very dangerous, and it forced us to take the extreme step of turning off sites on older PHP versions until the PHP developers release patches for them.
We will turn these sites back on as soon as patches are available and installed.
In some cases we have force-upgraded sites to the latest PHP version. We understand this may break some sites, but until the older versions are patched, there is no alternative. If and when patched older versions become available, we will downgrade those sites to their requested PHP version. However, please be prepared for the possibility that the PHP developers never release patches for older legacy versions.
